Results & Visualization

The Results & Visualization tab is used to load simulation results, create reports, generate diagrams and visualize temporal or static result data directly on the QGIS map.
Use this tab after a network model has been built and simulated or after measurement or simulation result data has been imported into the database. The tools in this tab help analyse the behaviour and performance of the district energy system and support the interpretation of simulation outputs.
Load results
The Load results section is used to load dynamic simulation results into the database so that they can be used for visualization, diagrams and reports.
Use this function after a simulation has been completed and result files are available.
Diagrams
The Diagrams section is used to create graphical plots from simulation result data.
The Plugin text describes two diagram-related tools: Path report and Plot feature loads. It also states that simulation results can be visualized using interactive diagrams, including feature loads, aggregated loads, and pressure or temperature profiles along a selected path.
Path report
Use this function to analyse values along a selected network path. Pressure and temperature profiles can be plotted along elevation data for a selected route, such as from a customer or a network weak point to a power plant.
A path report is useful when checking:
- pressure behaviour along a network branch,
- temperature development along a route,
- critical points in the network,
- differences between customer locations and energy plant locations,
- the influence of elevation on the network path.
Plot feature loads
Use this function to display individual or aggregated loads for customers and energy plants.
Select one or more networks and choose Heat balance or Mass balance to display the corresponding network balances.
Note: The required balance outputs must be selected in Requested outputs before simulation. Load the simulation results before plotting.
Reports
The Reports section is used to create a network report for the active project version.
Network report
Use this function to generate a report that combines map visualizations with the most relevant key performance indicators. The KPIs shown in the report are based on the outputs selected in the Requested outputs section of the Modeling & Simulation workflow.
Use the network report when results should be documented in a structured and reproducible way.
Map
The Map section is used to visualize results directly in the QGIS map.
Show data on map
Use this function to display temporal simulation results, measurement data or feature attributes directly on the map. Values can be animated and visualized using color coding, dot or line thickness, scaled symbols, or labels
This function is useful when spatial patterns are important, for example:
- identifying areas with high or low demand,
- visualizing changing temperatures or loads over time,
- comparing customer, line, or plant behaviour,
- locating critical network sections,
- presenting simulation results in an intuitive map-based form.
Notes
Results and visualizations depend on the outputs that were requested before the simulation was run. If a required value is missing, check the Requested outputs settings in the Modeling & Simulation tab and rerun or rebuild the simulation workflow if necessary.
