Script console

The Script console is used to edit and execute IDA Scripts.

To open a script console, select "Run script" from Tools menu (this command is available only for IDA applications that support user-defined scripts).

To execute a script,

  1. Write the script code in the Code field, or load it from a file.
  2. Select the object the script will be applied to by clicking the button to the right of Root field.
  3. Press Run button.

The expression returned by the script is shown in the Result field. The user can copy the result, save it to a file, or (if the result is a data object) open it by pressing Open result button.

To insert a reference to a data object to the script code, drag the object from Outline view to the Code field and drop it at the desired position. Copy/paste also works.
