Custom data objects

  1. Add a record

((template :c class :n name :t type_name)
  ...
)

to the file appname.app. The class should be one of the built-in IDA classes. The type_name should be either a built-in IDA type of the same class or the name of a previously defined template.

  1. In this record, include subrecords to modify components of the template object and add new components.
  2. If this object should support inserting subobjects, add attribute :ins to the record’s header
  3. If this object should be insertable in some other objects, modify the :ins attributes of that objects.
  4. Optionally prepare the report form (either in text or in HTML format) for the object.
  5. After adding all records, start IDA Modeler and prepare the forms and pictures for new objects, if required.

The form to the object name should be stored in the file name.idc in the application directory. If a component with name subname is declared inside the object, the form of the component should be stored in the file name.subname.idc. If no form is supplied for an object, the form of the object type_name will be used instead.

The same rules applies for report forms (extension .idp or .idh) and pictures (extensions .ids, .emf, .wmf, .bmp, .jpg, or .ico).
