Tables for Energy and Custom simulations
The Zones table shows extreme values and other scalar results.
Find general information about the scalar results and Summary tab here Simulation results.
Zone | The zone name. |
Group | The group name (assigned by the user or by the tool that created the model). |
Zone multiplier, M | The number of zones with these conditions. The "TOTAL" row shows (where applicable) the sums over all zones counting with zone multipliers |
Min temp | Minimal value of the mean air temperature in the zone. |
Max temp | Maximal value of the mean air temperature in the zone. |
Min op temp | Minimal value of the operative temperature at the position of the first occupant in the zone. |
Max op temp | Maximal value of the operative temperature at the position of the first occupant in the zone. |
Max heat supplied | Maximal value of the heating power (both sensible and latent) delivered to the zone from room units (both convective and radiative) as well as from mechanical and natural ventilation (including leaks and infiltration). |
Room unit heat | Maximal value of the heating power delivered to the zone by the room units (both convective and radiative) |
Max heat removed | Maximal value of the heat (both sensible and latent) removed from the zone by mechanical and natural ventilation (including leaks and infiltration) and by room units (both convective and radiative).. |
Room unit cool | Maximal value of the heat (both sensible and latent) removed from the zone by room units (both convective and radiative). Condensation may occur in fan coils and ideal coolers, but is assumed not to occur on cooling surfaces in the room (a warning is issued if such condensation occurs). |
Dry vent cool | Maximal value of the sensible heat removed by mechanical ventilation. |
Max sup airflow | Maximal flow rate of mechanical supply air. Empty cell for zones without supply ventilation. |
Max rtn airflow | Maximal flow rate of mechanical return air. Empty cell for zones without exhaust ventilation. |
Max solar gain | Maximal net total solar energy gain from windows and openings (external and internal), including heat from absorbed solar radiation in the glazing and the frames (unless they are separate constructions). Net gain (or losses) of artificial light through windows and openings is also included. |
Min rel hum | Minimal value of the relative humidity of the air in the zone. |
Max rel hum | Maximal value of the relative humidity of the air in the zone. |
Max CO2 | Maximal value of the concentration of CO2 in the zone. |
Max PPD | Maximal value of percentage of people dissatisfied. The value is an average for all the people present at that time (in one or more groups). It is empty if there is no occupancy during the simulation period. |
Max age of air | Maximum of 1/(Fresh air changes per hour). The age of the air is equal to the mean time the air is inside the building (includes the effect of AHU recirculation and air exchange between zones). |
In use | The total time (during the simulated period) when the zone is in operation, i.e. the "in use" signal is positive (at least 0.01). The "in use" signal defaults to the maximum of all occupancy schedule signals with positive "Number of people in group". Schedule smoothing is not applied to these signals. |
h of T_op>t | The total time (during the "in use" time) when the operative temperature at the position of the 1-st occupant is above the given limit. Two columns with different limits are shown. The limits may be selected in System parameters (parameters temp_h_low and temp_h_high). |
Occ hours | The total number of occupancy hours, i.e. the integral of the actual number of occupants in the zone. For example, two persons present for one hour means two occupancy hours. The "TOTAL" row shows the sum of occupancy hours for all zones taking zone multipliers into account. |
PDH | Hours of people dissatisfied, i.e. the integral of the PPD measure multiplied by the total number of present occupants. The "TOTAL" row shows the sum of PHD for all zones counting with zone multipliers. The total can be used to compare overall comfort between design alternatives. |
Unmet hours (cooling) | The total time (during the simulated period) when the mean air temperature in zone is above the cooling setpoint plus the tolerance parameter temp_tolerance_ULH given in System parameters. This measure is frequently used in ASHRAE standards. |
Unmet hours (heating) | The total time (during the simulated period) when the mean air temperature in zone is below the heating setpoint minus the tolerance parameter temp_tolerance_ULH given in System parameters. This measure is frequently used in ASHRAE standards. |
The Air handling units table shows the energy balance of each air handling unit.
AHU | The name of the air handling unit. |
Heating | Heating energy transferred by heating coils. |
Cooling | Cooling energy transferred by cooling coils. |
AHU heat recovery | Recovered heating energy in heat exchanger. |
AHU cold recovery | Recovered cooling energy in heat exchanger. |
Humidification | Energy required for humidification. |
Fans | Total fan electric energy. |
The table Systems energy (with a link to the Systems energy report) provides an overview of energy delivered from the systems to the building.
The table Energy balance (with a link to the Building energy report) shows the total balance of energy for all zones in the building. See Result - Zone energy for a specification of each item.
The tables for Traded Energy (with a link to the Traded energy report) shows used/produced (1:st table) and purchased/exported energy by all traders (except Utility, see Energy contracts and traders). Produced energy is shown as negative, so the overall (net used) energy for the different energy carriers (electricity, district heat, district cooling and fuel) is obtained by summing the parts. Peak demand values with peak times are also presented. For the 2:nd table the exported energy is given as negative, so the overall (net purchased) energy for the different energy carriers is obtained by summing the parts. Peak demand values with peak times are presented and cost results are also given.
The table Delivered Energy provides a digest of and link to the report. This is energy that is delivered to traders inside the assessment boundary (e.g. Facility, see Energy contracts and traders) from own production (e.g. PV-panels) and trading with external utilities and other traders outside the assessment boundary.
