Distributing applications and extensions
The installation procedure should
- Read the location of the IDA installation directory from the registry value IDA_path of key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Equa\progname\version - When installing a new application, create the application folder IDA_path\lib\appname\.
- Install all required files in the application folder.
To install application or extension for the current user only, the installation procedure should
- Read the location of the user private folder from the registry value AppPrivate of key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Equa\progname\version
If the registry does not contain such a value, use subfolder Equa\progname\ in the standard user’s Application Data folder provided by the Windows operative system - Create the application folder PrivateFolder\lib\appname\, if it does not exist yet.
- Install all required files in the application folder.
The installation program may also ask the user for the installation folder. In this way the application may be installed to a common (shared) folder that may be available over a network to multiple users.
Here progname is either IDA Modeler or a name defined in the IDA Application (e.g., ida-ice, ida-tunnel).
The current version of IDA Modeler is 4.0.
The uninstallation procedure should remove all installed files and directories.
