Printing a view

To print a document, do the following:

  1. Select the view that is to be printed
  2. Select the menu item File | Print (or the Print button in the toolbar)
  3. Input the desired printer driver and settings in the dialog box that is displayed
  4. Select the OK button

Depending on printer driver, the view may also be saved to a file (usually in PostScript format).

IDA Modeler does not print 3D views by itself. Instead it saves the image to a temporary graphical file (in TIFF format) and calls the associated program to print it. In the standard configuration, Windows first show a preview of the graphical file and the user has to click "Print" button to print it.

By default, IDA Modeler generates the TIFF file with resolution 3 times higher than the screen resolution (i.e., magnification=3). To use a different magnification, keep the Shift key pressed when selecting the menu item Print (or Print button in the toolbar). IDA Modeler will ask you to provide the required magnification.
