The File Menu

The File Menu

The File Menu contains various alternatives for managing the documents. These are


New...	Create and open a new document
Open...	Open a document from a file
Import	Import an IFC building to IDA ICE or ESBO
Close system	Close the selected system or document-
Save system	Save the selected system or document
Save As...	Save the selected system or document with new name
Save as Version…	Save the modified system as a new version
Save Form	Save the form of the selected window
Save Form As...	Save the form with a new name
Export Image...	For graphic views: save the image in the selected window to a file. Several graphic formats are supported (different for 2D and 3D graphics). For text-based views: save the text to file
Export Geometry...	For 3D views: save the image in the selected window to a file
Export to IDA Viewer...	Save the current model as a binary file which is only possible to open in the IDA Viewer. Such files have extension ‘.idmv’. The IDA Viewer is a free version of IDA, where models and model results can be examined. All functions are available in the Viewer except saving and simulating a model.
Export to PDF	For HTML views: convert to PDF format and open in PDF viewer
Form Properties	Open the Form Properties dialog
Printer Settings	Choose and set up the printer
Print Options...	Select the graphical printing options
Print...	Print the contents of the selected window
Open autosaved	Open the last autosaved version of the active IDA system, or the latest autosaved system if no IDA sytem is active
Start additional session	Start a new instance of IDA Modeler
Exit	Quit the IDA Modeler

In addition, the nine documents most recently opened are easily within reach from this menu. Choosing one of their file names opens the corresponding document.
