PV panels are inserted from the 3D View, but they can then be viewed and edited in this form.

PV/AC panels have by default an attached AC inverter. They therefore don't need to be connected in PV strings and they cannot have an optimizer.

Other PV panels need to be grouped into strings and assigned a suitable inverter depending on the number of DC panels in the string. Optimizers for partially shaded panels or strings can be added to maximize the electrical power output. Below is an example where six PV panes have been connected in one string, but without optimizers.
